Alternatives
Pythago alternatives for tracking Google Ads profit per product
For a similar Google Ads profit-per-product view, the closest Pythago alternative is Opteno, which overlaps with it heavily (both are built around Google Ads, show ROAS and POAS per product by variant, country and market, and have an API with the same two routes); the clearest listed difference is price, $14.99 a month for one store against $59. Selvra OS fits if you want POAS per campaign and budget proposals, and ProfitFinder, Bloom Analytics or ProfitOne if you also advertise on Meta. Stay with Pythago if you want shipping and transaction fees inside profit, halo revenue or campaign pausing, none of which Opteno offers.

What Pythago is, and who should stay with it
Stay with Pythago if you run Google Ads for Shopify stores and want shipping and transaction fees counted in profit, halo revenue, and campaigns paused by rules you set. It describes itself as “Real profit per product and per campaign for Shopify stores running Google Ads”, and its pricing tiers are written for dropshippers. It also links to public customer reviews on Trustpilot, which Opteno, in early access, does not yet have.
It connects Shopify and Google Ads with no tracking script and shows ROAS next to POAS per product and per campaign over 30, 14 and 7 days, by variant, country and market. In Google Ads it can pause campaigns and exclude a product or single variant from asset groups, with automated actions off until you switch them on per campaign; it does not change budgets or bids. Its About page names three co-founders: Koen, Glenn and Lyubomir.
Pricing is per store, per month, in US dollars: $59 for one store, $49 each for two and $39 each from three. Its tier cards list “Automation tools” and “API access” only on 3+ Stores, and its FAQ says the entry plan holds nothing back “except the extras listed on the pricing tiers”. Its website, pythago.io, does not mention a free trial.
Look elsewhere if the price per store matters more than those extras, or if most of your spend is on Meta, where Pythago’s own FAQ says “a Meta-first tool will serve you better today”.
Who wrote this
Opteno wrote this page and is one of the alternatives. Many of Opteno’s features overlap with Pythago’s; only differences the two sites state, or that one site lists and the other does not mention, are named here, and each is marked as such. Facts about other tools come from their own public pages, read on 29 September 2026.
Quick comparison, as listed on 29 September 2026
Pythago and Opteno overlap most: both are built around Google Ads (Google Ads and Shopify are the only accounts Pythago’s pages name), show profit per product by variant, country and market, can draft or archive products in Shopify (per Pythago’s how-it-works page; Opteno only after a person approves), and have a REST API and an MCP server. For per-product profit with Google Ads spend synced, Opteno and ProfitFinder’s Everything plan list the lowest price for one store, $14.99 a month. Figures are from each tool’s own page, in US dollars, on monthly billing.
Pythago
Ads: Google Ads (Performance Max and Standard Shopping described; no other ad platform named). Per product: yes, by variant, country and market, with halo revenue. Price: $59 for one store; $49 each for two, $39 each from three. Trial: not mentioned on pythago.io. Google Ads: excludes products or single variants from asset groups (in one click, or in batch); pauses campaigns through automated actions that stay off until you switch them on per campaign; does not change budgets or bids.
Opteno
Ads: Google Shopping and Performance Max only. Per product: yes, per product offer, by variant, country and market. Price: $14.99 for one store; $11.99 each for two, $9.99 each from three. Trial: 7 days, card required. Google Ads: offer exclusions, after approval.
Selvra OS
Ads: Google Ads (no other ad platform listed). Per product: not listed; POAS is reported per campaign. Price: $39.99, one plan. Trial: 14 days. Google Ads: budget cuts, pauses and negative keywords, approved or automatic.
ProfitFinder
Ads: Google Ads and Meta. Per product with ad spend: Everything plan ($14.99, or $120 a year); Free lists product-level profit margins and Micro product analytics, both without ad-spend sync. Price: free plan (7 days of data); paid from $4.99. Trial: 7 days.
Bloom Analytics
Ads: Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit, Amazon. Per product: Grow plan ($40). Price: free plan (7 days of data); paid from $20, unlimited orders. Trial: 14 days.
ProfitOne
Ads: Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat. Per product: Pro plan ($99, up to 3,000 orders); campaign POAS from Growth ($35). Price: from $15 (500 orders). Trial: 7 days.
Opteno: heavy overlap with Pythago, at a lower price per store
Opteno is built only for Shopify stores advertising on Google Shopping and Performance Max, and it overlaps heavily with Pythago: both call themselves Google Ads profit tracking for Shopify stores. Its own line is “See real profit per product and per market — after cost of goods, refunds and ad spend.”
Like Pythago, it connects with no script, shows ROAS and POAS per product by variant, country and market, and has an MCP server and a REST API with the same two routes. It joins spend to orders through the product offer identifier Google reports spend against, shows 7, 14, 30 and 60-day windows in its dashboard and MCP server (its REST API returns 7, 14 and 30 days), and shows spend it cannot tie to a product as unattributed. Its only Google Ads write is excluding or including a product offer in a Performance Max asset group, after a person approves.
Where it differs: one store costs $14.99 a month and three $29.97, against $59 and $117; automations and API keys come at every store count, where Pythago’s tier cards list them only from three stores; its trial terms are published (7 days, card required, billed from day 8 unless cancelled), where pythago.io mentions no trial; and it is operated by Ksel Technology Limited (Hong Kong). Both include competitor monitoring and product research or import. Opteno also sells date comparison and product-import credits separately; pythago.io does not say whether Pythago charges for anything similar. Its limits: no shipping or payment fees in net profit; no halo revenue or campaign pausing; no Meta ads, though Google Ads is also the only ad account Pythago’s pages say it connects; and it is in early access, with no published customer count, reviews or ratings.
Selvra OS: POAS per campaign, with an approval queue
Selvra OS suits a Google Ads merchant who judges profit per campaign and wants fixes proposed: “Google Ads profit optimisation for Shopify merchants”. It calculates POAS for every campaign daily and queues changes such as “budget reduction, campaign pause, negative keyword” for approval, or runs the action types you allow automatically (it is conservative by default). Unlike Pythago and Opteno, it does not describe profit per product. One plan, $39.99 a month, with a 14-day trial; listed since August 2026.
ProfitFinder: Google and Meta spend beside product profit, from $14.99
ProfitFinder is the cheapest listed way here to see Google Ads and Meta spend beside profit per product. It “combines revenue, product costs, shipping, fees, and ad spend to show true profit at both store and product level”; ad-spend sync, and profit per product after that spend, need the Everything plan, $14.99 a month or $120 a year. Its listing does not say how Google Ads spend is assigned to products, so check in the 7-day trial. Listed since May 2026.
Bloom Analytics: product-level Performance Max spend, with unlimited orders
Bloom suits stores on several ad platforms that want a price that does not rise with orders; it “shows the true profit you’ve earned and the channels that actually drive it”. Its docs say it “automatically captures product-level ad spend” for Performance Max campaigns. Grow ($40) adds “Product Profits and ROAS” and MCP connectors for Claude and ChatGPT; Flourish ($80) adds “Country ROAS & Profit”. Listed since 2024.
ProfitOne: product and variant profit, with EU VAT
ProfitOne suits EU and UK stores on Google and Meta that need VAT inside profit: “Real-time net profit, ad ROAS, COGS, shipping & EU VAT analytics”. Growth ($35, up to 1,000 orders) adds “In-depth campaign ROAS & POAS”; product and variant profit needs Pro ($99, up to 3,000 orders). It has a 7-day trial and has been listed since 2025.
What one to three stores would pay
Example only, from listed monthly prices on 29 September 2026, for the cheapest plan with per-product profit and Google Ads spend (per campaign for Selvra OS). Pythago and Opteno list no order tiers, so on listed prices only the store count changes their monthly plan price (Pythago quotes custom plans and larger portfolios on request; Opteno sells one-time date-comparison and import-credit purchases on top); annual prices are left out.
- Opteno: $14.99 for one store, $23.98 for two ($11.99 × 2), $29.97 for three ($9.99 × 3)
- Pythago: $59 for one store, $98 for two ($49 × 2), $117 for three ($39 × 3)
- ProfitFinder Everything: $14.99 for one store; no multi-store price listed
- Selvra OS: $39.99, one plan (per campaign, for reference); multiple stores not mentioned
- Bloom Analytics Grow: $40, unlimited orders; up to three shops, per its blog
- ProfitOne Pro: $99 for up to 3,000 orders; multi-store P&L on Enterprise ($199)
Price is not the whole comparison. Pythago counts shipping and transaction fees, shows halo revenue and can pause campaigns; ProfitFinder, Bloom and ProfitOne list shipping among their costs and cover Meta. Opteno’s net profit is revenue after refunds, minus cost of goods and ad spend; it has no line for shipping or payment fees.
How to choose
Step 1: Start from your channel mix
Nearly all spend on Google Ads: Pythago, Opteno or Selvra OS. Google and Meta: ProfitFinder, Bloom or ProfitOne. Pythago and Opteno both say an account spending mostly on Meta is better served by another tool; Pythago’s FAQ says “a Meta-first tool will serve you better today”.
Step 2: Decide which costs belong in profit
Pythago takes product cost, shipping and transaction fees from Shopify for each order; ProfitFinder and ProfitOne also count shipping and fees. Opteno takes refunds off revenue, then subtracts cost of goods and ad spend; it has no line for shipping or transaction fees. Both can use an average cost percentage: Pythago when cost prices aren’t filled in in Shopify, Opteno as a store-wide alternative to cost-per-item.
Step 3: Choose product level or campaign level
Performance Max reports per campaign, so a healthy campaign can hide losing products. Example: $1,000 revenue after refunds, $700 cost of goods and $350 ad spend is a ROAS of 2.86× but, on cost of goods alone, a POAS of 0.86× and a $50 loss. Selvra OS works per campaign; the others show each product.
Step 4: Match the price and trial to how you buy
Pythago and Opteno charge per store, cheaper per store as you add stores; ProfitOne prices by orders and Bloom lists unlimited orders. Opteno’s 7-day trial needs a card and charges from day 8 unless you cancel. Pythago’s website, pythago.io, mentions no trial, so ask before you sign up.
Step 5: Check what it can change in Google Ads
Pythago can pause campaigns and exclude products or single variants; its automated actions stay off until you set them per campaign. Opteno only excludes or includes product offers in Performance Max, after approval. Selvra OS can cut budgets, pause campaigns and add negative keywords. Neither Pythago nor Opteno changes budgets or bids.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Pythago alternative?
It depends on what you need. For a similar product-level Google Ads view at a lower price, without shipping, fees or halo revenue, Opteno; for POAS per campaign with budget proposals, Selvra OS; for Google and Meta together, ProfitFinder, Bloom or ProfitOne. For shipping and fees in profit, halo revenue or campaign pausing, Pythago may still fit best.
Is Opteno the same as Pythago?
No, but the two overlap heavily: both show Google Ads profit per product by variant, country and market, with an MCP server and a REST API on the same two routes. The stated differences: Opteno costs $14.99 a month for one store against $59; it lists a 7-day trial that needs a card, where pythago.io mentions none; its profit leaves out shipping, transaction fees and halo revenue; it cannot pause campaigns; and it is operated by Ksel Technology Limited (Hong Kong).
Is Opteno cheaper than Pythago?
On listed prices, yes: $14.99 a month for one store against $59, and $29.97 for three against $117. Opteno also sells date comparison ($24.99 or $39.99 one-time, per store) and product-import credit packs (from $24.99); pythago.io mentions neither. Opteno’s profit, revenue after refunds minus cost of goods and ad spend, leaves out the shipping and transaction fees Pythago counts.
Does Pythago have a free trial?
Pythago’s website, pythago.io, does not mention one, so ask at support@pythago.io before you sign up. Opteno’s trial lasts 7 days, needs a card and bills from day 8 unless you cancel; creating an account and connecting Shopify is free.
Do Pythago and Opteno have an MCP server?
Both do. Pythago’s changelog of 20 July 2026 says “You can now connect your own AI models to Pythago through MCP and pull product insights straight into them”; no public page lists its tools or says which plan includes it. Opteno’s server, at mcp.opteno.app/mcp, has twelve documented tools and connects by OAuth or a workspace API key; its only writes are product tags and dashboard filters.
Do Pythago or Opteno track Meta ads?
Opteno does not; it connects Google Ads only. Pythago’s pages name only Shopify and Google Ads as the accounts it connects, and its FAQ says “Google Ads is our focus and where the product is strongest. If Meta is where most of your spend goes, a Meta-first tool will serve you better today.” Shopify profit apps that sync Meta spend as well as Google Ads spend include ProfitFinder (Everything plan), Bloom Analytics and ProfitOne.
