What Opteno can and cannot do in your accounts
You are connecting the two accounts your revenue runs through. This page is the whole answer, including the parts that are inconvenient for us.
Google Ads
Opteno connects through Google’s own OAuth flow. We never see your password, and the access you grant is the access you can see on your Google account page.
It reads daily spend, impressions, clicks and conversions per product offer, and the structure of your Shopping and Performance Max campaigns.
It can write exactly one thing: excluding or including a product offer inside a Performance Max asset group. It cannot change a budget. It cannot change a bid. It cannot pause, enable or create a campaign. It cannot edit an advert.
Even that one write is staged. Opteno plans the change, validates it with Google without applying it, shows you the outcome per offer, and waits for a person holding that permission to approve. A preview expires after thirty minutes so a stale plan cannot be applied to an account that has moved on.
Shopify
Opteno reads products, variants, orders, refunds, cost-per-item, markets, publications and price lists. There is no script to install on your storefront and nothing is added to your theme.
The writes it can make are: drafting or archiving a product, publishing or withdrawing a product in a market, changing a price, adding a tag and writing a note. Products created by a competitor import are always created as drafts, never live.
It cannot edit your theme or storefront, cannot contact your customers, cannot issue a refund and cannot alter an order.
Writes are asynchronous, and the interface says so: a change shows as applying, then as applied or failed. Where Shopify never confirms, Opteno reports the outcome as unknown and tells you to check the store rather than retrying blindly.
Your data
Opteno runs on servers operated by Contabo GmbH in Lauterbourg, Grand Est, France.
Provider credentials are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and a fresh initialisation vector per value. They are never written to logs and never shown back to you in full.
This marketing site loads no third-party script, no external font and no external image. Scripts may come only from this origin, each carrying a nonce issued for that single response, which is also why nothing on this site is styled with an inline style attribute.
Retention, sub-processors, export and erasure are set out in full in the privacy policy, which is the document that governs — not this summary.
Who on your team can do what
Access inside a workspace is a role built from twenty-one named permissions, enforced on the server rather than only hidden in the interface. They cover the dashboard, Google Ads exclusions, product status, tags, filter presets, CSV export, competitors, imported products, automations, notes and API keys, plus managing users, stores and store settings.
Anything that would write to Shopify or Google Ads becomes an approval batch, and only a member holding that action’s permission can approve it. Batches expire after seven days.
The workspace keeps an activity log of what happened and who did it — a person, an API key, an automation, the system itself or a provider’s webhook — filterable by actor, action, store and date.
Revoking access
Disconnect a provider in Opteno and its stored credentials are destroyed immediately.
Or revoke from your Google account page or your Shopify admin, and our access ends from their side without us being involved at all.
Deleting your Opteno account removes it, your memberships, your API keys and any workspace you are alone in, with no recovery window. There is no email to send and no support ticket to open for any of this.
