Who it’s for

One store, and a straight answer on which products earn

You do not need an analytics department. You need to know which of your products are quietly funded by the rest of the catalogue — and Opteno puts that on one row per product, after cost of goods and refunds.

ROAS tells you half the story

Google Ads reports revenue against spend. It has never seen what a unit costs you, so a 3× ROAS on a product with a 25% margin and a 3× ROAS on a product with a 65% margin look identical in the interface, and only one of them is paying for itself.

Shopify knows the cost side and nothing about the advertising. So the answer sits in two systems that never meet, and the usual substitute is a spreadsheet rebuilt at the end of every month — by which point the money is already spent.

Opteno joins the two on the product offer identifier Google reports spend against, takes off cost of goods and refunds, and prints POAS beside ROAS. Break-even POAS is 1.00×. Below it, the product loses money on every sale, whatever its ROAS says.

What you get

Four things, all of them on the same screen.

  • ROAS and POAS together

ROAS divides revenue by spend and tells you how the advert performed. POAS divides what is left after cost of goods by the same spend and tells you whether the sale was worth making. Both sit on the product row, with net profit beside them.

  • Variant-level detail

A product can earn on one variant and lose on the next — a size that sells at full price against one that only ever moves on discount. Open the row and the same arithmetic is there one level down.

  • Country and market breakdowns

Shipping, returns and competition differ by market, so the same product does not earn the same everywhere. Profit is split by country and by Shopify market from the same figures.

  • Rolling 7, 14 and 30-day windows

The short window catches a product going bad this week; the long one stops one slow week from condemning a good product. Every window ends yesterday, so a partial day never drags the average down.

A number you cannot trust is not shown

If a sold variant has no cost-per-item, or a day with ad activity has no usable exchange rate, Opteno reports the figure as unavailable and names the missing input instead of printing a zero. Spend it cannot attribute to a product is shown as unattributed rather than spread across the catalogue to make the totals tidy.

Set up in an afternoon, not a sprint

  1. Step 1: Connect Shopify

One pass through Shopify’s own OAuth flow. Opteno reads products, variants, orders, refunds, cost-per-item, markets and price lists. There is no script to add to your theme and nothing to ask a developer for.

  2. Step 2: Connect Google Ads

Google’s own OAuth flow, so we never see your password. Opteno reads daily spend, your Shopping and Performance Max structure, and the offer identifiers Google reports spend against.

  3. Step 3: Fill the gaps the data shows you

Where cost-per-item is missing on a sold variant, Opteno names the variant. Fill it in Shopify — or set a store-wide cost percentage — and the profit figures complete themselves.

  4. Step 4: Act on the losers

Sort by net profit, and the products the catalogue is subsidising surface immediately. From the same screen you can draft them in Shopify or take their offers out of a Performance Max asset group — both staged for your approval first.

What it costs

One store is $14.99 a month, which is the entry tier and the normal case. Every tier is the same product — connecting a second store lowers the price per store rather than unlocking anything.

The trial runs for 30 days from the day you create your workspace. No credit card is required to start it, and you are never charged unless you choose a paid subscription yourself. Connect Shopify, connect Google Ads and read your last 30 days before you decide anything. Google Ads sync and automatic tracking, and the date-comparison add-on, are not part of the trial.

  • $14.99 per month for one store
  • 30-day free trial, no credit card required
  • Cancel whenever you want
  • Nothing written to Shopify or Google Ads without your approval
