Competitors and imports

See what the market is selling, then carry it yourself

Add a competitor’s storefront and Opteno reads its public catalogue — what it lists, how it is priced, and where the store publishes its own best-selling order, in what order it sells.

What you get

Each of these is behaviour the product has today.

  • Public catalogue data only

Opteno reads the product listings a Shopify storefront already publishes to anyone. There is no scraping of private data, no account, and nothing a shopper could not see.

  • Best-seller order where the store exposes it

Some storefronts publish their own best-selling ordering. Where they do, Opteno records it; where they do not, it says so instead of inventing a ranking.

  • Import into your own catalogue

Copy a competitor’s product — or any single product URL — into your store’s imported catalogue, edit its title, description, price, compare-at price and tags, and publish when you are ready.

  • Everything lands as a draft

Published products go to Shopify as drafts, never live, so nothing appears on your storefront until you put it there yourself.

  • Prices are copied, never converted

A source priced in another currency is flagged as a currency mismatch and its number is carried across unchanged, because a silent conversion is a pricing error waiting to happen. Your store’s price ending is applied on import.

How it works

  1. Add a storefront; Opteno checks whether it is a Shopify store it can read.
  2. It reads the public catalogue and records best-seller rank where the store publishes one.
  3. You filter, sort and pick the products worth carrying.
  4. Importing copies a product into your imported catalogue, where you edit it.
  5. Publishing creates it in Shopify as a draft, asynchronously, and reports the outcome per product.

What it does not do

Written down so you can decide with the limits in front of you rather than after you have connected.

  • Only Shopify storefronts can be read; a site on another platform is reported as not readable rather than half-read.
  • A tracked storefront can be refreshed once every five minutes, and a store can track up to 20 competitors at a time.
  • A product that has already been published cannot be published again — Opteno refuses rather than overwriting what you have since edited.
  • There is no AI rewriting of titles or descriptions in this build.

  • Automations
