Opteno vs Bloom Analytics: Google Ads product profit vs multi-channel Shopify profit

Bloom Analytics is a multi-channel Shopify profit app: a free plan, then paid plans at $20, $40 and $80 a month that add product profit and ROAS, Amazon Ads and email campaign profits (Grow), and marketing attribution with country ROAS (Flourish). Opteno covers only Google Ads Shopping and Performance Max, reporting profit per product (joined on the product offer identifier); it can take losing offers out of Performance Max after a person approves, and it sells one plan with no feature tiers, priced per store: $14.99 a month for one store, falling to $9.99 each at three or more. Choose Bloom if your spend spans Meta, Amazon and email; choose Opteno if most of your spend is Google Ads Shopping and Performance Max and you want product profit with POAS at $14.99 a month for one store, plus approved Performance Max exclusions.

The short answer

Bloom reports profit for the whole store across the channels you connect to it (its listing names Meta, Google Ads, Reddit, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Amazon and email platforms). Opteno answers “which products is my Google Ads spend making or losing money on, and what do I do about them?” They overlap on product ROAS and country ROAS but reach them from opposite ends.

Bloom’s Shopify App Store listing says it tracks profit “after COGS, shipping, ad spend, and expenses across Shopify and Amazon”. Opteno’s profit figures come only from Shopify and Google Ads. It joins Shopping and Performance Max spend to Shopify orders on the product offer identifier, then subtracts refunds and cost of goods.

Bloom’s listing shows it launched on 15 October 2024. Facts below were read from each company’s own pages on 29 September 2026.

At a glance

  • Ad channels

Bloom: Meta, Google Ads, Reddit Ads, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Amazon and email platforms. Opteno: Google Ads Shopping and Performance Max only; no Meta, TikTok or Amazon.

  • Price

Bloom: Start is free; Sprout is $20, Grow $40 and Flourish $80 a month, billed in USD. Opteno: one plan at $14.99 a month for one store, $11.99 each for two stores, $9.99 each for three or more.

  • Free trial

Bloom: 14 days on each paid plan, plus a free Start plan whose feature list includes “Last 7 Days Data”. Opteno: 7 days, card required, nothing charged during the trial, one trial per workspace.

  • Product profit and ROAS

Bloom: from Grow upwards; its docs say product-level spend is captured automatically for Google Ads Performance Max and Facebook catalogue and Advantage+ Shopping campaigns, and other campaigns can be linked to a product manually with a campaign link. Its listing also mentions POAS. Opteno: included at every store count, for Shopping and Performance Max, with POAS beside ROAS.

  • Country ROAS

Bloom: “Country ROAS & Profit” on Flourish ($80). Opteno: country and Shopify market breakdowns included at every store count, for Google Ads spend only.

  • Attribution

Bloom: “Marketing Attribution and campaign analysis” on Flourish; its listing describes “multitouch paid and organic attribution models”. Opteno: joins spend to orders on the product offer identifier and does not compute halo or incremental revenue.

  • Changes to Google Ads

Opteno: excludes or includes product offers in Performance Max asset groups, dry-run with Google first and applied only after approval; never bids, budgets or pausing. Bloom: its pricing page lists no way to change campaigns.

  • MCP

Bloom: “MCP Connectors (Claude+ChatGPT)” from Grow upwards. Opteno: an MCP server with twelve tools and a REST API; API keys are not charged for.

Which plan holds which feature

The biggest structural difference is packaging. Bloom sells four tiers and adds features at each step up. Opteno sells one plan and changes only the price per store: a second store lowers the rate but does not unlock anything.

  • Bloom Start: free

Dashboard Overview, Profit Table (Shopify), Ad platform Metrics (Meta & Google), Cohort & Customer Metrics, Fixed Cost Settings, Last 7 Days Data.

  • Bloom Sprout: $20 a month

Adds Order-Level Profit, Custom COGS, Custom Shipping Cost, Shopify Shipping Auto-Sync, marketing and visitor metrics, and an email summary.

  • Bloom Grow: $40 a month

Adds Product Profits and ROAS, Amazon Ads, Amazon Sales & Expenses, email campaign profits (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend), MCP Connectors (Claude+ChatGPT), Slack Updates and Shopify Markets.

  • Bloom Flourish: $80 a month

Adds Marketing Attribution and campaign analysis, Country ROAS & Profit, VIP Support and an Onboarding Manager. Profit Forecast is marked “adding soon” and AI Insights “coming soon”.

Opteno’s single plan includes all of the following at any number of stores:

  • Per-product ad spend, revenue, cost of goods, refunds, ROAS, POAS, gross margin and net profit
  • Rolling 7, 14, 30 and 60-day windows, with variant, country and market breakdowns
  • Google Ads sync and automatic tracking
  • Exclude and include product offers in Performance Max asset groups
  • Automations, approvals, Slack and signed webhooks
  • Competitor tracking and product import
  • Markets, publications and price changes
  • Unlimited stores — you are billed for the ones you connect

Two things cost extra on Opteno: date comparison, a one-time purchase per store ($24.99 for 365 days of history, $39.99 for 730), and product import credits, sold in packs.

Why product-level Google Ads profit matters: a worked example

A product can hit its ROAS target and still lose money, which is why both tools look below the campaign at individual products. In Opteno’s default setting, POAS (profit on ad spend) is revenue after refunds, minus cost of goods, divided by ad spend, and its break-even is 1.00× for every product.

  1. Step 1: Example inputs (illustrative figures)

One product in a Performance Max campaign over 30 days: $500 of Google Ads spend, $1,500 of revenue after refunds and $1,050 cost of goods.

  2. Step 2: ROAS

    $1,500 ÷ $500 = 3.00×. On ROAS alone this product looks fine.

  3. Step 3: POAS

    ($1,500 − $1,050) ÷ $500 = 0.90×. That is below the 1.00× break-even.

  4. Step 4: Net profit

    $1,500 − $1,050 − $500 = −$50. The product lost $50 while showing a 3.00× ROAS.

Both tools show ad spend and net profit per product; Opteno prints POAS beside ROAS on every product row, over rolling 7, 14, 30 and 60-day windows.

The difference is the next step. In Opteno you can plan that product’s exclusion from the Performance Max asset groups it appears in, see Google’s dry-run result per offer, and apply it only after a person approves. The campaign keeps running; only that offer stops serving in those Performance Max asset groups.

What Opteno will not do in Google Ads

It never changes a budget or a bid and never pauses a campaign. Its only Google Ads write is excluding or including a product offer in a Performance Max asset group, and a preview goes stale after 30 minutes.

MCP on both sides

Both products let an AI assistant read your profit data over the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Bloom includes it from Grow upwards; Opteno sells no feature tiers, and API keys cost nothing extra.

  • Bloom

Listed as “MCP Connectors (Claude+ChatGPT)”. Bloom’s docs describe connecting ChatGPT or Claude to explore profit, KPIs and campaign performance in plain English; only admins and the account owner can connect. Its blog gives the server URL as https://app.bloomanalytics.io/mcp.

  • Opteno

https://mcp.opteno.app/mcp, with twelve tools: store summaries, product and variant performance, comparisons, scale/watch/kill recommendations, tags and dashboard filters. Connect by OAuth or a workspace API key. Its only writes are product tags and your own dashboard filters. A REST API sits at https://api.opteno.app/api/v1.

Each assistant answers from its own product’s data: Bloom’s from the channels connected to Bloom, Opteno’s from the Shopify and Google Ads data of the stores you grant it.

Where Bloom fits better

  • Your ad spend is spread across Meta, Google, TikTok or other channels and you want one profit figure. Opteno has no Meta integration.
  • You also sell on Amazon: Grow lists Amazon Ads and Amazon sales and expenses.
  • You want profit from Klaviyo, Mailchimp or Omnisend email campaigns (Grow).
  • You want a marketing attribution model (Flourish).
  • You want store-wide costs such as shipping and fixed costs in one profit and loss view.
  • You want to start free on Bloom’s Start plan.

Where Opteno fits better

  • Most of your spend is Google Ads Shopping and Performance Max, and you want profit per product on the entry-price plan.
  • You want to act on it: exclude or include offers in Performance Max asset groups after a dry run and an approval.
  • You sell in several Shopify markets and want to publish or withdraw products per market, or change a price in one market, with the previous 30 days’ figures recorded.
  • You run several stores: all sit in one workspace, and the price per store falls as you add more ($23.98 a month for two, $29.97 for three).
  • You want automations that propose changes and wait for approval, with Slack and signed webhooks.

Several stores on Bloom

Bloom also lets you connect more than one Shopify store to one account and switch between them. Its pricing page has an FAQ entry on how multi-store pricing works; check it before costing several stores.

Questions

Is Opteno a Bloom Analytics alternative?

Only if Google Ads is your main paid channel. Opteno reports profit per product for Google Ads Shopping and Performance Max and nothing else, so it cannot replace Bloom’s Meta, Amazon, email or attribution reporting. The two can run side by side: Bloom for the store-wide profit and loss, Opteno for Google Ads product decisions.

Does Bloom Analytics work with Google Ads?

Yes. Its free Start plan includes ad platform metrics for Meta and Google, and its docs say Product Profits captures product-level spend automatically for Performance Max campaigns. Product Profits and ROAS is on the Grow plan, $40 a month.

Do Bloom and Opteno show ROAS by country?

Bloom lists Country ROAS & Profit on Flourish at $80 a month, covering the ad spend it attributes to each country. Opteno breaks profit, ROAS and POAS down by country and Shopify market on its only plan ($14.99 a month for one store, down to $9.99 per store at three or more), but for Google Ads spend only.

What do Bloom and Opteno cost for one store?

Bloom is free on Start, then $20, $40 or $80 a month. Opteno is $14.99 a month for its one plan, after a 7-day free trial that needs a card; only date comparison and import credits cost extra. On Bloom, product ROAS starts at $40 (Grow) and country ROAS at $80 (Flourish).

Can either app change my Google Ads campaigns?

Opteno can make one kind of change: excluding or including a product offer in a Performance Max asset group, checked with Google first and applied only after a person approves it. It never changes bids or budgets or pauses campaigns. Bloom’s pricing page lists no way to change campaigns.
